I Have A Winner!

The party is on-going, and I am still meeting many wonderful bloggers.  A huge thank-you goes out again to Vicki from 2 Bags Full... .  Running this party has not been an easy task, I'm sure.  With 600 blogs participating, it has been a success, but a tiring one.  I can assure you Vicki that your efforts are much appreciated by us all.
On to the winner of the bookmark.  I used a random number generator, my daughter, and am so pleased to announce that an avid reader is getting a very suitable gift.  As a matter of fact, her last blog post was about one of her favorite authors.  Congratulations to Linda from Crafty Gardener!  I've been to your blog several times since I met you shortly after this party began, and I have enjoyed every post.  I can not wait to see what you start posting in the Spring!

Snow Day!

It has been a wonderful, drawn out fall.  I've enjoyed easy walks around my yard well into December, and more time outdoors than I usually get during these first two winter months. This balance between indoors and outdoors is essential to keeping me feeling good.  I hate being cooped up in the house for too long without a breath of fresh air.  It makes me tired, and I'm a grouch when I'm tired. Yesterday, Old Man Winter decided to correct his oversight in our corner of the world, and deposited between 6 and 8 inches of snow.  It looked light and fluffy, but it was actually very dense and it took a lot of work on my husband's part to tidy up the driveway. The prairie I walk in out back was so completely whited out, it seemed as though I was getting nowhere, even though I could clearly feel the muscles in my legs straining to get me through the snow.  It is actually quite dizzying to be looking at nothing but pure white and trying to move forward.  I had to look up an
