All The Fur Babies

Image
Anyone who loves animals and has one or several of their own understands how remarkable a relationship can be with these furry beings.  Each of these critters has their own special story and their own unique personality.  Not unlike children, what works for one will not work for the other.  We get to know them so intimately that we can tell from the slightest sound or motion they make if something is not quite right. Animals have always been in my life, particularly black cats.  Sooty is my third black kitty.  He follows in the footsteps of Zeke, the first that was given to me as a newborn.  I had Zeke until I was 17 years old.  A few years went by before I adopted a 3 year old black cat that I renamed Zeke Junior.  Junior was with me from the time I was 20 until I was 37 years old, another 17 years.  It took me a little while to get over the loss of that one, but then one day my sister invited me over to see her litter of 8 kittens. July Mornings

Image
July is flying by so fast, it is making me dizzy! I've been having fun learning about my new camera and enjoying Instagram a whole bunch. I like that I can use it from my phone which I almost always have on me and that it is super quick. Mostly though, I've been enjoying the weather, my gardens and having my kids at home. They're older now, and mostly prefer to do their own thing, but I love "dropping in" now and then to see what they're up to and just having their happy voices fill up our home makes me lighthearted. I do hope you're all having a fabulous July! Here are some photos, mostly from my morning walk with my dog. An America Coot in its nest. I get a kick out of these guys and the noises they make. A lovely pair I passed on my morning walk. Seemed like a sad little birdie. My black kitty Sooty, getting some love from Georgia. This is one of those shots I thought I didn't get. It's my current favourite and I wil...

Redo!

Image
The blurriness of the vanilla bottle in my last post was driving me nuts.  So I set up the scene again, messed up again, set it up again and now I'm pleased.  I hope.  I'm leaving the problem photo up for comparison as well as a reminder to think everything through thoroughly while going through that much trouble for a photo! And just because, here is a picture of my lovely girl kitty Georgia.  I love the pose!

Kitty Mash-up.

I thought it would be fun to do a mosaic of a cute photo I captured of my girl kitty, Georgia this weekend.  I like the way it turned out because we get a close-up view of some details in a kitties face that we all love.   Georgia was enjoying all the craziness of our master bedroom being repainted. Although it's not all back together, the room looks great!!!  I absolutely love how the color turned out.  It's called Jersey Grey by Simon Chang.  It is a grey with a hint of lavender. I think it's time for a new bedding ensemble to complete the makeover.  That could be awhile though, because I am fussy both in how it looks and how much it costs. This post was really just an excuse to take part in Judith's Mosaic Monday .  Thank-you Judith!

Christmas Kitty

Image
Christmas exploded into our home yesterday!  I spent the entire day putting up everything but the tree, and after dinner we all joined in decorating and that made this the first year that we have all worked together on the main tree.  The cats are the ones most excited about the change in decor, but so far, there have been no major mishaps. I did manage to get an adorable picture of my girl kitty, Georgia which I just have to share.  I hope everyone is having fun getting ready for the holidays! After getting all the decorations up in one day, I feel a whole lot better, and now can move on to the baking! I shared this post at The Enchanting Rose, HERE .
