My Reliable Handsome Fella

I could be referring to my husband with that title, and perhaps I ought to be, but in this case I'm describing my dog. Today, while out for a stroll around the yard with my camera, I noticed that when I stopped to do a few shots, he sat down and waited for me.  As soon as I let my camera hang loose around my neck and took a step forward, he picked himself up, and continued walking.  Once I noticed this behavior, I put it to the test several more times, and without fail, he waited for me to finish, keeping a close eye one me, and when I walked, he walked.  What a wonderful feeling to be so connected through this unconditional love my dog has for me.  If I could give him, (and others) half of what he gives me, I would consider myself enlightened.

      Hi Christine! Yes, he is so very huggable. We often have to stop mid-walk for hugs! I love him so much.

    Ohe yes, I agree! When I was growing up we had a miniature Yorkie with the name of Sir Oliver Sedgewick Mitchell (not sure what my parents were thinking-haha), but we called him Ollie for short. He was my "best friend" and we did everything together. I would dress him up (poor thing) and often we would play hide-and-seek. I would hide somewhere and he wouldn't stop until he found me. A dog is such a special animal.

      What a sweet story about your dear Yorkie, and what a fantastic name! We have a cat name Georgia Winifred, but that's as fancy as we have ever been with naming a pet.

    My Max would be wandering around on a big smellathon! Not sure he would be that diligent, but I love him to bits anyway.

    How absolutely gorgeous your Bear is! Unconditional love at it's finest ♥ I have the same with my Archer ...and my two labs before him, Bentley and Ernest. Each by my side at all times. Love and Loyalty. I have jotted down the quote too - just perfect!

    Our pets made our life really complete and enrich it so much, just having at least one of them make us able to understand it and how much fortunate we are to live side by side with them, joining their wonderful worlds !

Snow Day!

It has been a wonderful, drawn out fall.  I've enjoyed easy walks around my yard well into December, and more time outdoors than I usually get during these first two winter months. This balance between indoors and outdoors is essential to keeping me feeling good.  I hate being cooped up in the house for too long without a breath of fresh air.  It makes me tired, and I'm a grouch when I'm tired. Yesterday, Old Man Winter decided to correct his oversight in our corner of the world, and deposited between 6 and 8 inches of snow.  It looked light and fluffy, but it was actually very dense and it took a lot of work on my husband's part to tidy up the driveway.
