A Day Enjoyed
I started my day in the kitchen, as usual. But today I had the privilege of cooking for 2 separate sets of visitors. I thoroughly enjoyed the savory scent of simmering beef stew all morning while making French bread and chocolate chip cookies.
I first had a great time in the company of my sister and her son, (my nephew), and then shortly after they had to run, I appreciated a second lunch with 2 good friends. I must have felt a bit like a hobbit by then, (overfed and content) but it didn't end there. A few hours later, I had dinner with my children, and a couple hours after that, my kidlets and I sat down with more food, (popcorn) and delighted ourselves with an old classic, 'Alice In Wonderland'.
In between dinner with the kids, and our movie, I took advantage of a few photo opportunities. It's always nice to capture some blog worthy pictures.
Although I knew things were going well between the cats, today's experience confirmed it. Georgia finally found it in her heart to allow Sooty to share her chair. She even gave him a little bath, which he thoroughly enjoyed. It is so nice to see everyone getting along!
I wanted a couple of other pictures to toss into this post, and so the next two are completely staged. That's not say they were easy shots - most of the time, Sooty had his head down, exploring something in the bottom of the pot, and he jumped out a couple of times. But out of the 30 or so shots, these two were worth the effort. Just try not say, "awwwww".
He's a black kitten...of course I had to throw a pumpkin under him!
Tonight's sunset was a brilliant orange, casting vibrant hues on my neighbors trees to the east of my yard. A suitable ending to my day, don't you think? Oh, and I got some great news from my little sister who has recently gone back to school, (so proud of her). The government is going to pay her tuition for nursing school!!! I'm so happy for her!
Halloween Kitty!! Love the name!! And beautiful photos!!
