Marshmallow World

Well, as you can see, I am now fully into winter. It continues to snow as I'm writing this and I can hardly wait to finish my lunch and head out into the quiet to walk my dog. This is his favourite weather for many reasons - the temperature is perfect, he loves to eat the snow, and he loves to play in the snow.  At times, he goes absolutely crazy with joy for the fluffy, white stuff and it is so much fun to watch him.

Halloween was fun here; we carved 43 pumpkins and I had painted several others. It wasn't the display of last year, but it still looked great. I usually do up a detailed post for the occasion, and I'm not sure what kept me from it, but there it is, and it's over, so moving on.

The big reveal for Stephanie's tea cup exchange is coming up, and I am so very disappointed that I managed to miss it. I looked in 1 week too late   I had some great ideas this year for my special friend too, but I suppose they will just have to be put off until the next one. Let's hope I don't sleep through that one too.

Actually, what has been taking up all of my spare time is a current obsession with reading novels. Every time I've sat down over the past month, all I can think of  is to get back to my current book. You can see the titles under the GoodReads section in the sidebar if you're interested. It is unusual for me to pick so many wonderful books in a row, hence it turning into an obsession. But my good luck has ran out, and my current read isn't keeping me near as enthralled, which is why I've remembered that I have a blog and several blog friends.  I suddenly felt the need for a visit, so here I am and I hope you all are well, and I will "see" you soon.

  1. The snow is pretty! I bet it is fun to see your dog enjoy the fluffy white stuff! We are unusually warm currently; in fact, some of our spring blooming plants are confused and have put out a few blooms!
Nice to see an update from you. Thanks for the good reads list!

  2. Wow, so much snow already! Will that mean you will only have white conditions for the next 5 months or will this melt soon?
I know what it's like to become so absorbed in good reads that all else fades into the background.
Hope you & your dog enjoy that snow!

  5. Hello, wow you have a lot of snow there. I am not looking forward to a cold winter. 43 pupmpkins carved, that sounds a lot of pumpkins. I tend to go thru periods of reading a lot and than stop for awhile. Happy Sunday, enjoy your day and new week!

  6. Wow, you have a lot of snow already! I hope you enjoyed walking with your dog. No snow here in New Mexico yet, but it is definitely cooling down and the nights are feeling colder. I'm looking forward to seeing what the month brings; my birthday is on the 23rd and some years, we have had snow around then. I'm hoping for a little birthday snow. :)

  7. Oh, I have a question - did you enjoy the Steven Truscott book in your sidebar? I'm very interested in the case, and would love to hear what you thought of the book. Thanks.

  8. Your first snowfall of the season is beautiful! I miss the four seasons being here in southern California. Sorry you missed the teacup exchange. I took part in it a couple of years ago and it was fun. There a novel sitting on my reading table that I need to finish, but my knitting week have to take a vacation! Have a wonderful day dear Andrea. Pat xx

  9. My dog loves snow as well, and he will tear around and around running with his mouth open into the drifts. We are still quite mild with rain all day today ... knitting is my chosen entertainment today (with occasional breaks for blog & instagram). 43 carved pumpkins is still some kind of miracle!!! Sorry you missed the teacup exchange. I gave it a miss this time too. Enjoy your walk!

  10. Holy crow, lots of snow! We've been up and down here with temps and tonight we had a tornado in our area! It's been crazy! Enjoy the white stuff and I'll gladly wait a bit for it's arrival here. I would have loved to see your 43 carved pumpkins! Wow! Something I might have to try next Halloween!

  11. Wow - our crazy poodle has never seen snow and I wonder what he's think of it, it is amazing to me to think that dogs would enjoy it so much :) Our life has turned cooler and we are grateful to not be so sweaty but with nothing as beautiful as your frozen scenes! I'm sorry you missed out on the Tea Cup exchange as you were such a fantastic partner, I decided not to enter myself this time, given the lengths you went through to send my wonderful parcel into Thailand!! Anyway I won't waffle on too long as I don't want to keep you from a good book - lol!

  12. Can't believe you've got that much snow; well, any snow at all, actually - it's still autumn here. I go through phases with reading; just been through a novel phase, currently re-reading about the Tudors.

  13. Hi Andrea, can I say brrrr??? After our very warm temperatures, it's very cold here with the snow but not as much as yours. The dogs are fun to watch in the snow aren't they? They turn into kids. I'm so sorry you missed the tea cup exchange, how disappointing for you. We were camping when it was announced, I was so concerned I had missed it too. Glad you're enjoying your books, really good ones are hard to find. Take care, Kelly.

  14. Brrr...that looks way to cold. - Pretty but I'm hoping we don't get a ton of it again this year. - Reading is a lot of fun. I just finished a book on my Kindle and have started a new Vampire series that I think is going to be great fun to read.
