Pumpkin Bliss

It's my favourite time of year again! I have been going into my patch daily and enjoying my "pumpkin hunts." It is so much fun digging around, looking for treasure and decorating the yard.
 
This is it, what it's all been for - the planting, the weeding, the watering. At times I wondered if I might be crazy doing all that work. I was ready to sell my acreage and move into a condo on some of those hot days when I couldn't put the work off any longer.
 
I don't think it will as bountiful a year as 2016, but I'm still having so much fun.  Here are a few pictures of what's going on in my yard.

    The pumpkins in the second photo are beauties! Nice healthy glow to them. Pumpkin season already eh? Wow! It seems like yesterday I was mailing a parcel filled with pumpkin delights to you ;)

    Wow, I'm so jealous! I've tried growing pumpkins and have failed almost every time. I decided to try again this year and was encouraged by the beauty of the vines but now the vines are dying and pumpkins are not growing but rotting...hmmm..I might need some pumpkin advice! Yours look fabulous! It's still early for Fall around here although this morning there were temps in the 40's and only 70de today. I'm looking forward to Sept. and October and decorating for Fall and Halloween. I love your pics so I'll just have to live vicariously through your pumpkin bliss! Take care!

Snow Day!

It has been a wonderful, drawn out fall.  I've enjoyed easy walks around my yard well into December, and more time outdoors than I usually get during these first two winter months. This balance between indoors and outdoors is essential to keeping me feeling good.  I hate being cooped up in the house for too long without a breath of fresh air.  It makes me tired, and I'm a grouch when I'm tired. Yesterday, Old Man Winter decided to correct his oversight in our corner of the world, and deposited between 6 and 8 inches of snow.  It looked light and fluffy, but it was actually very dense and it took a lot of work on my husband's part to tidy up the driveway.
