Good Bye 2016

I hope everyone has enjoyed the holiday season.  For me, it's all about the preparation.  I love to bake, so I do a lot of it and then wonder I made so much.  I do this every, single year.  No one complains though, but as Mother, I know we are eating way too much sugar.

I love how warm and cozy my home feels all decked out with winter and Christmas decor.  I dread taking it down.  I really have to find a way to make my home feel the same way for the remainder of the winter months.

My amaryllis bloomed a few days after Christmas, but that's okay.  Isn't it gorgeous?!  Also included is a picture of my tree and the light over my dining table.  I really love decorating both every year. The last photo is of my wee black cat, Sooty in a very weird pose.  Even my other kitty seems to be looking on in disbelief as to how he got his body into such a contorted position.

Happy New Year Everyone!

  5. You have such a good eye for decorating! Love the Christmas accents in your home, and your tree is gorgeous. I take all my decorations down and pack them away on New Year's Day. I used to leave them up much longer, but it always seemed too long. Now I get a fresh start to the week and the year. I can't even figure out where Sooty is twisted ;) Happy New Year!

  7. Hi Andrea - I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your Christmas tree. I tried to do something similar last year with a small tree in an antique bucket, it looked nothing like yours. I can't believe Christmas is already a memory. I'm like you, I enjoy the time leading up to it although this year didn't work out well for that. The preparation can be so enjoyable. I love how you decorated your light - very cute! Your kitty looks almost uncomfortable lol! I wish I could bend like that. Have a great 2017, Kelly.

  8. Beautiful photos. I haven't taken down my decorations yet because I have been sick but tomorrow is the day. I love how the extra decor warms up our house. I always miss it and the beautiful memories it evokes.

  9. What a pretty tree you had. I'm needing to get our decorations down this weekend. We took the tree down last week (due to the cats). Your kitty is so cute. Looking forward to blogging with you again this year.
