Excuses, Excuses

A lot has changed in my household over the past month, and the month before that, we were busy preparing for the change. My firstborn has moved out at the ripe old age of 17, to a city 8 hours away. (insert tears here.) Photography and blogging were the last two things on my mind. But for the few of you who like visiting here, I did tote my camera around a bit and have finally managed to get around to working with a few photos.  That newfound time probably has a lot to do with the drop in temperature.  The great outdoors is suddenly not quite as tempting as a warm cup of tea in front of the computer.

  1. Wow! 17! Is she starting university or college. It really is wild when one leaves the nest. I was 21 when I moved out and my mom was happy...she told me this years later. I have to say I was somewhat insulted. I love your photos because they are so pretty in their simpleness with the bright colours like the bright pink flower against the blue, that last one is quite dramatic. Hope you are safe and well

  2. I'm glad your warm cup of tea, brings you back to the computer. I think of you with my cuppa often as I still love the Namaste mug you gave me when I first arrived in Thailand. Do you remember the palava getting it here? As our kids spread their wings and the season of change is upon us I am glad to see your beautiful photos again. Wren x

  3. It's hard to see them grow up and become independent but also it makes you proud that they feel confident enough to be on their own. - Very nice photos here and wow those clouds at the end are amazing.

  4. There is beauty in all that you've captured. There is also beauty in watching your daughter stretch her wings and fly....although I'd be along with you crying when it's my turn. Thus far my daughter's are still at home. Enjoy the little moments and the sips of tea.

  5. Isn't it interesting that our main objective as a parent is to raise our children well, all the while preparing them for their independence and yet with our success there is sadness! Loved the photos, I remember that unique cloud, you captured it beautifully!
