Critters

Spiders are common, very common.  For a lot of people, and I'm sorry if you're one of them, spiders are far too common.  One of the most prevalent types of spiders are orb weavers. What is rare about the arachnid I took a photo of was the size and the unique shape.  What a beauty! I understand if you can't get past the creepiness factor, but I just love how this photo turned out.

I love birds of all sorts, but I am especially fascinated with our crows and ravens.  I'm always happy to have my camera handy when they're around.

  3. It's amazing how you can see all the little hairs on the spiders legs. We had a spider in Florida (crab spider) that was crazy beautiful!

Love the center photo ---- great for Halloween!

  4. I had a big yellow orb weaver outside my home a few years ago. I used to check on her everyday and say hello. She was magnificent and her web was too!

  6. The spider gave me a bit of a twitch, but it's still a cool shot! I love the Ravens by us and I frequently walk our dog in the cemetery and I keep hoping to catch a shot of one sitting on a headstone..now that's almost as creepy as that spider! Beautiful pics as always!

  7. Sweet friend, how are you? It was such a delight to read your comment on my blog today...thank you for stopping by. I trust you are well and I hope you've had a nice summer. It's hard to believe September is just around the corner.

Your pictures are always amazing and wow, what an incredible shot of the spider. We have a spider that is similar to the one you showed that is called a "Cat Spider." They can get quite big and let's just say I'm happier when they are outside rather than inside. We found one in my son's bedroom and oh, it was not pleasant! :)

    Hugs to you, dear one!

  9. That was a cool spider. I don't like to be startled by spiders but I find them fascinating to look at, watch & photograph. - I must say the Ravens or Crow shots are awesome.

  11. Your photos are always astounding, Andrea, especially the black & whites. We live in the woods and this time of years we have TONS of spiders and their webs are everywhere and it's very easy to just walk right into one....{{shudder}}. I am ready for fall, how about you?
