Snapshots

It's great when you come across wildlife that is way too busy to care what you doing with your camera.  Foxes don't look their best in the spring when they are losing their coats, but she's a beauty nonetheless.

This rainbow went on forever, it lasted for well over an hour and was incredibly vibrant. After taking the photo, I just sat on the couch and stared out my window. After the rainbow was over and the clouds were breaking up, the sky became very dramatic and again, the color lasted for quite a while. It was a nice evening to sit in front of the picture window.

And then there's the train.  I hope to get more and better shots of trains this year.

    Great shots! I saw a rainbow the other day but I was at work so no camera...but you caught yours perfectly. That fox is amazing. We have a fox dude in our woods but he's not as willing to sit for a photo shoot! The train pic looks like you were almost on the tracks..fun shot! Have a good weekend!

      I should have run up onto the tracks! It would have made a great shot, because what no one knows is that that engine is at the back of the train!

    Gosh that is a long train, it reminds me of a black upside down centipede with all it's legs in the air! There is always something special about rainbows which makes you just want to sit and stare isn't there? That fox is stunning even with a scruffy coat!.

Snow Day!

It has been a wonderful, drawn out fall.  I've enjoyed easy walks around my yard well into December, and more time outdoors than I usually get during these first two winter months. This balance between indoors and outdoors is essential to keeping me feeling good.  I hate being cooped up in the house for too long without a breath of fresh air.  It makes me tired, and I'm a grouch when I'm tired. Yesterday, Old Man Winter decided to correct his oversight in our corner of the world, and deposited between 6 and 8 inches of snow.  It looked light and fluffy, but it was actually very dense and it took a lot of work on my husband's part to tidy up the driveway.
